Terms of Service

The ground rules for using RoadTripPlanner to build, save and share road trip itineraries.

Last updated 11 June 2026

Agreement to these terms

These terms apply when you access or use RoadTripPlanner. By using the app, you agree to these terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

RoadTripPlanner is provided for trip planning and itinerary organisation. It is not a safety, navigation, weather, emergency or legal compliance service.

Accounts

You are responsible for the information you provide, for keeping your account secure and for activity that happens through your account. Tell us promptly if you believe your account has been accessed without permission.

We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms, create risk for other users or interfere with the operation of RoadTripPlanner.

Subscriptions and billing

RoadTripPlanner Pro is a paid subscription billed monthly or yearly through our payment processor, Stripe. By subscribing, you authorise us to charge the applicable fee, including any taxes, at the start of each billing period using your chosen payment method.

Your subscription renews automatically at the end of each billing period until you cancel. We may change our prices or plans, and where we do we will give you reasonable notice before a change affects your next renewal. Continuing your subscription after a price change takes effect means you accept the new price.

Cancellation and refunds

You can cancel at any time from your account billing settings. Cancelling stops future renewals; your access to paid features continues until the end of the period you have already paid for.

Except where required by law, payments are non-refundable and cancelling does not entitle you to a refund for the current billing period. If you are a UK or EU consumer, you may have a statutory right to cancel within 14 days of subscribing; because RoadTripPlanner gives you immediate access to paid features, you agree this period may end once your access begins, to the extent permitted by law. Nothing here removes statutory rights that cannot be waived.

Your trips and content

You keep ownership of the trip plans, notes, routes and other content you add to RoadTripPlanner. You give us permission to host, process, display, copy and transmit that content as needed to provide, secure and improve the service.

You must have the rights needed to upload or share any content you add. Do not use RoadTripPlanner to store unlawful, harmful, infringing or abusive material.

Planning accuracy and travel responsibility

Road conditions, opening times, ferry schedules, closures, access rules and weather can change. Route estimates and map data may be incomplete, delayed or inaccurate.

You are responsible for checking your route before and during travel, following local laws, driving safely, respecting private land and confirming bookings, permits, access restrictions and travel documents.

Acceptable use

Do not misuse RoadTripPlanner, attempt to disrupt or reverse engineer the service, bypass security, scrape at unreasonable volume, use the service for unlawful purposes, or interfere with other users.

You may not use RoadTripPlanner in a way that overloads our systems or violates the terms of our map, routing, hosting, authentication or infrastructure providers.

Third-party services

RoadTripPlanner relies on third-party services for features such as authentication, hosting, maps, geocoding and routing. Their services may be subject to their own terms and availability.

We are not responsible for third-party websites, services, data or content that are not controlled by RoadTripPlanner.

Changes and availability

We may change, add or remove features, update pricing or usage limits, or stop providing part of the service. We aim to keep RoadTripPlanner reliable, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free availability.

We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of RoadTripPlanner after the updated terms take effect means you accept the updated terms.

Disclaimers and liability

RoadTripPlanner is provided on an as-is and as-available basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim warranties of accuracy, fitness for a particular purpose, availability and non-infringement.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, RoadTripPlanner will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, data, goodwill or travel costs arising from your use of the service. Where liability cannot be excluded, our total liability to you for any claim relating to the service is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us for RoadTripPlanner in the twelve months before the claim, or £100.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction over any dispute, unless mandatory consumer protection laws in your country of residence require otherwise.
